As you may have guessed, Amsterdam is not really a part of Thailand. The capital of Netherlands is famously known for distinct smells lurking around every corner 😉.
Greek gyros. Whoops, we missed not just the country, but also the continent!
Amsterdam made it to our list, as we had to spend 10 long hours of layover before we could board the plane to Thailand. Despite everyone telling us that the queues awaiting us upon returning could take as long as 4 hours, we still opted to see the city and leave the airport.
And what a decision this was - we walked along canals, being sunbathed by warm autumn sunrays - all while enjoying a delicious gyros. And upon returning to airport, it only took us 30 minutes to reach the gates. No regrets whatsoever.
